European Defence Research involves several stakeholders throughout Europe addressing a variety of key technologies areas, which needs to be identified, known and recognised by Member States to facilitate the selection of the best providers and the networking of competences.
To catalyse the development of Defence R&T in Europe, EDA is launching the European Defence Research Centers (EDRC) initiative. EDRC consists of a database pooling information to promote cooperation and technology expertise of Defence Research in the European Union.
All research providers wishing to be part of the defence research network in the EDA remit are invited to subscribe to the EDRC portal and provide relevant information on their competences. Making their competences available to the R&T community is of great added value for working with EDA. A first deadline for subscription is 15 September 2010 for the official launch of the portal. Please note that access to EDRC requires pre-agreement (to register click here). Research providers are therefore recommended to consult their National Authorities responsible for coordinating EDA R&T activities prior to registration.
The EDRC Portal will be officially launched on the EDA Web Site by the end of September 2010, and will be used as a working tool to seek for cooperation opportunities and as a window to all stakeholders.
