RNLI product training video on Pains Wessex website

A new Pains Wessex product training video, produced by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, can now be seen on the company website.

The nine minute-long video here features demonstrations from RNLI crew showing how to safely operate Pains Wessex marine distress signals.

Pains Wessex is UK supplier of marine distress signals to the RNLI.
It is the leading global supplier of SOLAS, MED & USCG-approved product and is owned by Chemring Marine, part of the Chemring Group plc.

Product manager, Keith Bradford, says, “The video shows how to handle and fire Pains Wessex marine distress signals and is ideal for commercial shipping officers, fishermen and individual sailors or anyone using its products.

“It is an offence to fire distress signals when not in an emergency situation without obtaining prior permission from the authorities, so viewing firing techniques online is the perfect solution for training crew to use the product without physically having to fire any flares.

“We are grateful to the RNLI for letting us use this well-made, valuable pyrotechnic training aid.”

Pains Wessex’s comprehensive range of distress signals is available through a global network of more than 200 distributors in 70-plus countries and is specified by the world’s navies, merchant fleets, fishing vessels, rescue services, airlines and leisure craft.

Its products are trusted by the world’s commercial and leisure marine markets for their reliability and they have been saving lives for more than a century.
